These kit were made to demonstrate the new tom libraries added to the Pearl MimicPRO’s 1.1.0 library update, along with the added cymbal bow articulations.

Both kits were used in the demo video above and are configured as 4 tom kits.

These free kits are based on edits of The eDrum Workshop Heavy Hitters Collection.

This kit was created to showcase the sound design concepts behind making a “snare wires off”-style snare instrument by layering together a filtered snare drum and a muted tom.

The kit has no pad or kit compression or EQ, except for the EQ settings on the snare layers that are integral for this sound. There is also reverb on the snare as that is a useful part of the sound character.

The video tutorial explains how this sound was made, along with how to create some other exciting instruments not contained in the module! There are gig-ready, fully-produced “snares off” kits contained in both the Heavy Hitters Collection and the Carey kit from Famous Vol. 1.
